The Ultimate house sound, by the numbers
Across the 20 measured models, the most common tuning is dark (10 of 20, 50 percent). Next most common: bass-heavy (5), near-neutral (3).
The model that needs the least correction is the Ears UE6, with no band more than 3.1 dB from neutral. The one that needs the most is the Ears Super.fi 5 Extra Bass, off by up to 6.9 dB before EQ.
