We are building sound
that knows you.

Almost every sound you hear was made for an average listener who does not exist. Atrium measures how you actually hear, learns what you like, and reshapes everything your computer plays to fit.

The problem

There is no average listener.

Every piece of audio you have ever heard was mixed for an ear that does not exist. Listening is as individual as a fingerprint, on three layers.

Taste

The audio industry spent a decade in controlled listening tests searching for the tuning the average person prefers. The result became the reference standard headphone makers tune to, and even it satisfies only about two thirds of listeners. The best one-size-fits-all answer still misses a third of people.

Physiology

No two ears are shaped alike, and almost no one hears symmetrically between their own two. Your sensitivity varies across the frequency range in a pattern that is yours alone, yet almost no consumer software ever measures it.

Hearing health

Around 1.5 billion people already live with some degree of hearing loss, projected to reach one in four humans by 2050, and over a billion young adults are at risk from unsafe listening. Sound that adapts to your hearing is not a luxury. It is overdue.

The industry's answer to all this variety is to ship one tuning per product and let demographics average out. The result: every listener is hearing someone else's compromise.

Our belief

Sound should adapt to the person.

Nearly everything else in computing personalized itself years ago. Your feed, your recommendations, your maps, your screen. Audio never did. It still ships one tuning for everyone and asks your ears to adjust to it.

We think that is backwards. The most personal of the senses deserves the most personal technology, and measuring a person beats guessing at an average every time. Atrium exists to make the sound you hear truly yours, and to build the layer that sits between all of your devices and your ears.

What we have built

Your Signature, a listening identity.

Atrium builds a profile of you in about fifteen minutes, through short listening tests: hearing thresholds, loudness sensitivity, sound separation, spatial perception, and a taste test that turns simple A/B choices into a picture of the sound you actually prefer. We call the result your Signature.

The engine applies it to everything your computer plays: a personal equalizer, per-ear balance, correction profiles for thousands of headphone models, real acoustic rooms, and a 3D spatial mixer. Every adjustment you make teaches it a little more. The longer you listen, the more yours it sounds.

01

Thresholds

The quietest sounds you can hear, ear by ear.

02

Loudness

How your sensitivity changes across frequencies.

03

Separation

How well you pick details out of a busy mix.

04

Spatial

How you locate sound in space, front, back, above.

05

Taste

A/B choices that map the sound you love.

Where we are going

From an app to a
personal listening agent.

Atrium today is a tool you set up. What we are building is closer to a person in the room with perfect ears and endless patience. An agent that hears what you are hearing, understands what you ask of it in plain words, and reshapes the sound in real time to match. Not presets. A collaborator that knows your taste and gets better every time you listen.

1

Talk to it like a person

You say what you want in plain language. "Warm it up." "The vocals are buried." "Too sharp." Atrium turns it into precise, safe adjustments in real time. And because it reads what is playing, the same words do the right thing on every track: "bring the vocals out" finds the actual voice, and "more bass" eases off on a song that is already heavy.

2

It learns you, not an average

Every time you accept, nudge, or undo a change, Atrium sharpens its picture of your taste. Ask for "a little warmer" once and it remembers how much you mean. Over time it stops waiting to be asked and simply gets it right.

3

On everything you play

Music, films, games, calls. Every sound leaving your computer, shaped the way you want it, the moment it plays.

Your Signature is the core of all of it. Desktop is done on Windows and Mac, and from here it goes mobile, so your personal sound can follow you to every device you listen on.

Why it lasts

A profile of a person is hard to copy.

An equalizer is a commodity. A measured profile of how one specific person hears, and a system that learns how they respond, is not. Every session a listener spends with Atrium makes their sound more theirs, and the product harder to leave. That personal fit compounds.

It sits on top of a need that grows every year, from 1.5 billion people with hearing loss today toward one in four by 2050, and a generation that lives in headphones. Personal sound is a category that does not really exist yet. We are building it.
