The Stax house sound, by the numbers

Across the 43 measured models, the most common tuning is bass-light (26 of 43, 60 percent). Next most common: mid-forward (5), near-neutral (5).

The model that needs the least correction is the Lambda Nova Signature, with no band more than 3.8 dB from neutral. The one that needs the most is the SR-X Mk2, off by up to 6.3 dB before EQ.
